Samoan Night

One night at the cafeteria we had Samoan night and my friend and I got this flower head band and we rocked them!

Laie, Hawaii Temple :)

A couple of weeks ago my friends and I went to walk around the Temple grounds and go to the visiting center, it was very cool and I grabbed a few photos, enjoy! :)

I actually really love this room of Jesus Christ versus the one in Salt Lake because the colors are so much brighter and I find it just beautiful.

Happy Late Birthday Mom and finally a blog update!

Aloha everyone!! Okay so for my wonderful mother's birthday, I had decided to make it special and make a video to post here to wish her a happy happy birthday, however after trying multiple times every single day since Sunday evening and after all those tried nothing cooperated. :/ So due to stinking blogger and youtube not working for me, no video for me to share..But yes! I would like every person who reads this know that I love and miss my mother so much! She is truly an amazing mother and I could have never asked for anyone better, I love you mom!
Also I apologize for not updating so much! It's been over what? 2 weeks! I've just been a bit busy between classes and studying to friends and fun! But here I am now to tell people all about the past two weeks :)

So the weekend before General Conference, my some of my friends and I went to HONOLULU! :) we had fun in the city! Rode the bus for probably at least 3 hours total down to the other side of the island and went to this place called the swap meet where its just a market of fairly cheep stuff, great place for Hawaiian souvenirs and then we went down to the mall!

And one night I actually stayed out all night on the beach!
It was a ton of fun!
We tried to stay so we could see the sun rise, too bad clouds were in our stinkin' way!
haha but the bonfire we kept going the whole night was nice!
Good times! :)

Okay now an update on my classes!
I just recently have started learning how to spin clay on the potters wheel!
I think it is a lot of fun! I love playing with clay!

On my first college test I got a 98%!
Granted it was over 1 Nephi, but hey, it wasn't an easy test!
I also got a 90% on my first paper!
I got an 82% on my science test..that one could have been better.
Oh! I today I took my test in Hula class and I only missed one point in my dancing!

Well this is all for now, there will be more to come!
It will come soon I promise! this time I mean it!
Love and miss you guys!!

First week of classes!

Surprise!! I am actually doing school work! I've got a Book of Mormon class that I am reading 30 minutes from the BOM every day for, I've got Fitness for Living that I'm exercising for 30 consecutive for 5 days a week, I've got English 101 >.< and for that I need to read Hamlet. I've got physical science that's going to be a pretty easy class, I have beginning ceramics! That will be hard/time consuming but fun! I have beginning hula (yeah;)) and then lastly! (to pull me over to 14 total credits) Flag Football!

Interesting tid-bits:
My English teachers name is Zebulun.
My Fitness for Living teacher has been in the Olympics and wrote the Fitness & Wellness book we are going to be using in class, his name is Werner W. K. Hoeger.
And there are a total of three girls in my Flag Football class!

Oh! this week I got my mailbox here! So if you would like to send me anything text or facebook message me to let me know and I will gladly give you the address:)

This week I have walked all over the place! I am doing so much walking and then mix that in with 3 exercise classes and by the end of the semester I am going to have some rockin' leg muscles!

Sadly, my watch that I have loved all summer and actually really came in handy here, is dying :( so I might just have to get a new one or just deal with out my watch, but look at this poor thing. It's supposed to say 4:28...
Anyways, please excuse the fact that I am jumping from subject to subject, I am just going to type what comes to my mind!

I just want to comment on how much I love this school! I love the fact that 5 out of 7 of my classes start with a prayer, my teachers openly speak about the gospel and how it applies to what we are learning now! I learned in English that when Joesph Smith was translating the plates in the 1800s he used language that was from Shakespeare's time in the early 1700s! Not one word that Joesph used in the BOM was a word invented past Shakespeare's time. Plus, Shakespeare's work was not common reading to small town farming families in Joesph's time so there is no way he could have written that without the Lord's help. Also, my teacher seems to believe that this fact proves that Shakespeare was inspired by God and/or God enjoys Shakespeare's work! How interesting right?

Anyhow, I think I am going to enjoy this semester! Also, I'm getting closer to choosing a major, not there yet, but getting there! I'm very excited for this up coming year! And its comforting to know that if it ever gets too stressful I can just take a stroll down to the beach and unwind for a bit :)

Sleep?...nahh I'm good.

This is SO true its unbelievable, but yes, I choose good grades and a social life.
If by the end of the semester I don't have good grades..there's a problem!

First time washing my clothes here at byuh!

Okay! So on Tuesday, Celeste and I decided we are going to do our laundry. So we go ahead and put our clothes and wash them in this first washing machine.

First washing machine
By the time they were finished Celeste had to go for a meeting, so I took the liberty of switching out the clothes from the washer to the dryer and first placed my clothes in this machine and then Celeste's into an identical one.
False dryer, Second washing machine
Once I started her clothes I stopped and realized that those clothes weren't drying, they were WASHING! So quickly I stopped Celeste's clothes and then went to stop mine, but couldn't. By that time my clothes were in there for too long to be able to stop, the door would just not open! Therefore, they just got a nice second wash with a dryer sheet! Since there was nothing else I could do for my clothes at the time I just moved onto Celeste's. I had time to stop that cycle, but not enough time to stop the washer to completely soak her clothes yet again. So, I took her sopping clothes into my laundry basket and lugged them over to the actual dryers.
Actual dryer

Not thinking I should probably drain them out first (or just being tired and lazy) I throw them into the dryer and start it up. Well eventually my clothes finish their second wash and I put them into a dryer as well, and after laughing at my immense confusion, Celeste and I wait for our clothes to finish washing. Once Celeste's laundry finishes we open it up and, obviously, they are still pretty wet, we tried to put them on another cycle but the money card we had no longer worked! (no idea why) We then just decide to throw her damp clothes into the same dryer as mine. We let them finish their cycle and then reach in to see how they had done, to find out they were still damp. So out of money for another cycle, we just decide to suck it up and take the clothes to our rooms and just hang them up to dry the rest of the way. That was quite a night, I was so tired by the end I was nearly delusional! I had been a morning and a night person with no naps, NOT A GREAT MIX. But I promise. Next time...I will get the right machines the first time! (P.S. if you look closely, you can see the dryers in the background of the pictures of the washers!)

Random shots I have gotten

And since not all of these are relevant to the things that I did and they are just some cool shots I got that are already up on facebook and instagram so I figured I would throw them up on this too :)

An interesting thing that just dropped out of the tree, seeds made me think of a tomato,
but that's the only hint I have!

Next is a tree that just looks like a giant pineapple!

And a beach shot here.

Trees :)

And flower!

Hope everyone is enjoying the pictures! talk to you guys later!

First Week! :)

Alright!! So, if you haven't noticed I am probably going to do a pretty terrible job of updating this! But I promise (and I really, really hope I can keep this promise) to update this at least once a week! If I don't, I am sorry!

Okay! So first week in Hawaii, so flipping amazing! I loved this place since the moment I walked outside, it is phenomenal. I am so happy and blessed to be here! I am meeting all kinds of people left and right and it is crazy! So far in 5 days I have gone to the beach 3 times, the PCC (Polynesian Cultural Center), a black out dance party, cliff jumping, and just jogging in this beautiful weather! (the jogging was my least favorite).

Thursday when I went to the PCC I saw a water show that showcased all of the polynesian countries and their individual style of dance and song, it was so cool!

Also at the PCC, I saw guys climbing coconut trees!! they also took the time to do calender poses! sorry you can only mostly see their silhouettes but you can tell they are trying to model! Check out the one where they are sticking their feet out behind them!

And then this is a drawing dear Celeste made of these guys while we were waiting to eat!

Oh and one night after a midnight walk to the beach we came back to campus and found and caught this flipping humongous Horn frog, toad thing! I think we named him Jeffrey or something.

Oh! Fun fact, I needed to get tested for tuberculous, so I watch them put this stuff in my arm and if makes this huge bubble on my arm, at first I was completely fine with it, then I started walking and completely got all queasy about it!! I had no idea where it came from and why it affected me so badly! But, yes, anyways, here is a shot of Celeste and I chilling in the beautiful weather :)

Now, yesterday, was probably one of my favorite days! I went Waimea Beach for cliff jumping (one time actually flipping) into this really high tide that made the water at times like 6 feet higher than it usually was! Those waves are my favorite waves so far on the earth! But, yes, now here are some pictures of that cliff side and the WATER :))

And while we were at this lovely beach we saw this beautiful rainbow. :)

First day in Hawaii!

So back in June my parents got me this nice new phone and when I got it I made a promise to my mother that I would make a blog for my college days, so that is why I am posting this now!
Today was finally the day, I am actually in Hawaii! The weather today was over cast a bit and I thought it was beautiful, apparently it gets better than that! But really, without even seeing much of Hawaii, it just feels amazing!
I love and miss so many of my loved ones! More will come :)
